Derek Bergeron

Postdoctoral Intern

Personal Statement:
Firstly, I must say that I look forward to returning to TAMU for postdoctoral training. I enjoy working in a university setting, and I feel there is a great potential for development within the student population. I hope to remain in this setting for my career, and I am happy to have this experience to continue my professional growth. I believe strongly in the integration of personal and career counseling, as I feel these areas can not be separated for mere convenience. I strive to be a well-rounded professional, as I believe that the roles a psychologist in a university setting are asked to assume are varied (e.g. therapist, teacher, consultant, advocate). I enjoy my work, and am invested in facilitating the growth and success of students here at Texas A&M University. Outside of my professional endeavors, I am an avid musician. I also enjoy reading, watching movies, and cycling.
