ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Statement
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a federal
anti-discrimination statute that provides comprehensive civil rights protection
for persons with disabilities. Among other things, this legislation requires
that all students with disabilities be guaranteed a learning environment that
provides for reasonable accomodation of their disabilities. If you believe
that you have a disability requiring an accomodation, please contact the
Department of Student Services, Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD),
in Room 126 of the Koldus Building, or call 845-1637.
There are five spaces designated for handicapped parking in front of the main entrance to Cain Hall,
two of which are time-limited, with a two-hour maximum.
There is no client parking at Cain Hall.
See more information about parking
at Cain Hall.
The main entrance to Cain Hall is wheelchair accessible. All offices and public areas of the
building are wheelchair accessible, and accessible rest rooms are available on the first floor of the building, just past the
SCS reception area, in rooms B105 and B106. An elevator services all three floors of Cain Hall A-Wing.
All signs in Cain Hall follow ADA
guidelines, and door signs are in both contrasting raised letters and in Braille. Door signs are either on the wall five
feet from the floor on the door knob side, or in the center of the closed door if there is no sign on the wall.
The HelpLine
phone number is equipped with both voice and teletype
assistive devices (V/TTY).
This web site was specifically designed to be accessible. In the near future, this page will contain
links to resources with recommendations for screen readers, and details about our accessible web design techniques.
We have made a special effort to make our facilities more easily accessible. If you need special
accommodations that we have not anticipated, or if you have any suggestions for improving the accessibility of our building,
any of our services or programs, or these web pages, please let us know.
