Want to talk to a counselor?

We talk with students in crisis and routine situations.  The best method for connecting with a counselor depends on your situation.

·         For life threatening or significantly life altering crisis situations

·         Available during business hours Monday – Friday (please try to arrive by 4pm)

·         No appointment needed; just arrive at our location at building 0065

·         Information, support and crisis intervention available after hours through HelpLine: 979-845-2700(V/TTY)

·         If not in crisis, you can schedule an appointment using our online registration link at the bottom of the page

·         If you register and cannot find an appointment at your preferred time, please call the SCS at 979-845-4427 or email scs@scs.tamu.edu

·         Routine screening appointments may take up to 10 business days to be scheduled.  At extremely busy times of the semester, the time-to-appointment may be longer

·         Students who have a pattern of failing to keep their appointments will need to be referred to the community due to legal and ethical concerns

·         Please be aware of the implications of our short-term model on services available.  See our Scope of Practice document for details

·         We provide short-term services.  Our average session number is 3 to 4.  Over 75% of students average 1 to 5 sessions of service

If you have any problems with the registration process, please contact us at 979-845-4427 or email us at scs@scs.tamu.edu

We look forward to assisting you.
